Sunday night we ordered Chinese food. It tasted awesome. The best part were the soft pork dumplings. Yummm. Most of my meals are going down fine, but I am more sensitive to spices lately. Some of the pork dumplings had a spice on them that tingled in a painful way couple of times. I have to be more careful as to what spices are on foods for the time being until my tonsil beds can handle the spicy foods I LOVE... and currently miss.
Pain is about a 1-3 most days. It feels a little swollen back there from time to time. Only real pain comes from excessive swallowing after eating with some gusto. I take Tylenol and Advil intermittently, and occasionally a T3. I tried gargling some alcohol free Listerine last night after I brushed my teeth and that was a mistake. My throat would NOT have it. Damn near choked and swallowed the Listerine. Not doing that again!
I have now set up Netflix in my house. I thought I could get in through my Blu-Ray player, but it was a free player spending Aeroplan points and a Panasonic, so the Netflix on it is only available through the states. I can get in on my CPU, so I found a way I can switch the cords from the CPU monitor to the big screen TV at home and watch it there. It does tie up both CPU and TV, but that is ok for now.
Ali is busy with her new play with Odyssey: Welfarewell. It is about an 80 year old pensioner who is starting to become destitute and discovers that if she begins committing crimes and going to jail, all her food, housing and medications are covered by the penal system... so she tries to be a criminal. Ali plays one of the women in the jail the pensioner meets who has tried to kill her husband. Ali also plays the judge at the end of the play. It is a pretty big cast: 13 people. She is having fun with it and finds it less stressful than her last play with them as this is a much smaller role for her. With her in tech week this week and the run happening this Friday to next Saturday, I am home with the girls every night and can set up big screen Netflix for the family.
I get to see my family doctor this Friday for a followup to my post-op last week, and then maybe the actual doctor who did the surgery next week when he gets back from his vacation. Have a great week all!
