Post Recovery

So, I got to see my surgeon, Dr. Stevens, on April 26 and he gave me a clean bill of health. That Monday, April 23, I woke up very ill with the flu with things coming out of both ends. In a way, that helped the tonsil beds as the spewtum removed all scabs. I was doing pretty well by the time I got to see Dr. Stevens.

I went back to "work" Tuesday May 1, as a sub. I am not back at the Pen yet as the recent federal budget cuts have made a wee bit of chaos. I have heard of a possible casual position opening up soon, so I am awaiting the call this week.

My parents came up April 30 for Anisha's birthday. They were supposed to come up sooner, but my mom got Shingles and was told to stay away until the meds kicked in. We had the party on Saturday, May 5, and my inlaws, Ali's parents, came up too. The weather behaved but stayed overcast. I made Anisha a pony cake. I apparently have a talent for decorating cakes.

Everyone left on Sunday, and Anisha was very upset about this. Back to our regular schedules this week. I have a bit of a chest cold lately.

The big news is that Anisha is officially registered for Kindergarten in the fall. She will be going to Ecole Vickers in the French Immersion program going Tuesdays and Thursdays and alternate Fridays. It is easier on us transportation-wise. I would prefer her to be in an English class, but one year of it won't be too bad. I have seen, and studies have shown, learning challenges faced by students in French immersion without speaking it at home. One year won't affect her that much.

Have a great week all!
