Weighing in on slow weeks

So, I haven't been subbing much; only twice in the last two weeks. What a let down... And February went so well. Teachers' Convention is Monday and Tuesday next week, so that will be neat to attend.

I have gained some weight, 7 lbs to be exact. I am up to 342 lbs. It is a bit of a shocker to balloon up again, but it definitely has to do with lack of working out. I find that if I get more shifts working, the less time I have to laze around the house and be a lump, thus motivating me to work out. No shifts sucks.

I did a CTV interview on March 2nd to promote the Free Math Seminar for Parents at Sylvan. I can't upload videos anymore, so it really sucks not being able to show you videos of me or Anisha.

Speaking of Anisha, she got her hair cut again, but just a trim of her bangs and the back. It cost a whole dollar to do it! Who says the economy is suffering? Not much else new from her, still talking alot and her sentences are becoming clearer most of the time. She likes to sing alot and often asks us to sing the same song over and over. We recently took in an evening at Dolly's Fun House one Friday. We wanted to go bowling, but all the lanes were booked up, so we went to Dolly's instead. Here are some pics.


We have finally signed all the lawyers papers for our new house, as well as getting our insurance set up. Now all we have to do is get the keys on posession day... YAY!!! I am very anxious about moving and can't wait to get into the new house. Most of our basement is packed up for moving, but not upstairs so much.

Just after posession day Alison has her conference in Saskatoon. While Ali is at the conference, Anisha and I will be exploring the Saskatoon Zoo, Children's Theatre, and Fun House. I think it will be a blast. When booking for this conference, Alison was told that the organizers worked out a deal to block book a number of rooms at a nearby hotel. I called to book and discovered that there was an error. The conference runs all day Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday. The rooms block booked at the hotel were for Thurday and Friday night, no Saturday. That means I tried to scramble to find a new hotel for Saturday night because the rest of the hotel was block booked for another convention running Saturday and Sunday. What kind of idiots plan a convention for 3 days and hotel rooms for two of them? The I became the idiot when Alison asked why I didn't just book 3 nights at a different hotel so we wouldn't have to move? DUH! So I called around and found that the Travelodge had everything we needed. It was however $214 per night. I asked about a Saskatchewan Teachers Federation discount and they told me there was a price reduction... DOWN TO $99 PER NIGHT!!! That is one hell of a savings. We said yes and now we are booked in AND we can bring Daxx!

Alison's rehearsals seem to be going well. The line memorization is going good, but she is a little worried about her acting ability since it has been so long since she last acted on stage... I think she will do very well.
