What am I looking forward to next year? Well, a few actually...
Top Choice: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - July 11
I LOVED Rise of the Planet of the Apes back in 2011, so I am REALLY looking forward to seeing the further chaos from Caesar the Ape... With Gary Oldman in the cast as well, it could be very awesome!
Others:
(Dates subject to change)
January
Her - A man begins a relationship with his Smartphone AI (a la Siri) and disconnects from reality
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit - A rebooting of the Jack Ryan series made famous by Harrison Ford and once by Ben Affleck, now with Chris (Star Trek's Kirk) Pine. Could be good.
February
The Lego Movie - Who would have thought they'd make a movie about Lego? Well, they have and it looks great!
The Monument's Men - A group of art experts enter WWII to rescue priceless art and save a culture of beautiful artefacts. Looks very funny, and smart, with an awesome cast.
Robocop - Some originals shouldn't be tampered with, but I like how this one seems to be set up. Looks slick and fun!
Pompeii - Looks like a great CGI fest with a predictable ending.
March
300: Rise of an Empire - If Dawn of the Planet of the Apes wasn't coming out this year, this would be my pic. I loved 300, and now the sequel looks awesome!
Mr. Peabody & Sherman - An extra during the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, this was a great Edutainment extra. Now the movie is coming and it could be good.
Muppets Most Wanted - Liked their return in 2011, but without some returning human cast, can it hold out? Oh it's the Muppets... of course they can.
Noah - This looks like a great take on the biblical story with Russell Crowe in the title role. Cool CGI as well.
April
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - I have nothing against the Cap, so I'll check it out.
May
The Amazing Spider-man 2 - The Rhino, The Green Goblin, and Electro... I can't see too much going wrong with this many villains in one movie. It worked the first time, right?
Godzilla - If you haven't seen the trailer for this reboot/remaining of the classic character, please check it out now. Looks great!
X-Men: Days of Future Past - A joining of the original cast with the new ones? And Wolverine? Looks so awesome
June
How to Train your Dragon 2 - The first movie is one of the best CGI/animated movies I've ever seen. I really hope the sequel holds out!
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction - No doubt I will be seeing this popcorn/CGI fest!
August
Guardians of the Galaxy - Know NOTHING about it, but all my comic friends are hyped.
The Expendables 3 - More gratuitous violence? Yes please. Great cast coming along too!
November
Dumb and Dumber To - Oh man, I am THERE that opening weekend!
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1 - I will watch it, even though I didn't like the book.
December
The Hobbit: There and Back Again - Gotta conclude this series after that cliff hanger!
There are others coming out in 2014 as well, but these are the ones I am really looking forward to.
Happy New Year all!
