A new year, a new challenge and changes

Wow, lots to talk about this week

1. It has been officially 1 year for my weight loss and with the December/January gain, I officially lost 21 lbs in one year. Not bad I think. But now I need a new goal, or goals...
  • I will lose 15 lbs by May 8th or I will not be allowed to see the new Star Trek movie. (It's a reboot of the original series)
  • I will lose 25 lbs by July 17th so I can see Harry Potter 6. Similar to my Dark Knight goal of last year.
  • I will keep the usual 5 lbs lost per new movie viewing plan and see how it all goes.
2. I am officially done teaching at St Mary High School. My last day was Monday. I went back on Tuesday for their official goodbye to me where they said some nice words about me and gave me a waterbottle as a thank you. Its good to not be lesson planning, etc, but it also sucks that I don't have my own class now. I am back to subbing and hopefully I will get lots of calls.

3. I can't upload video to the blog anymore and I can't link you to any videos we take of Anisha, so you will have to live with pictures of her for now. :)

4. Speaking of Anisha, she is doing well and still enjoying Daycare. She still loves to read books and keep us busy. Nothing really new with her, just that she is doing well.

5. Alison has a busy few weeks ahead of her. This weekend she and her fellow Guide/Sparks leader are going to Saskatoon for a Guiding conference. Then Monday is Ali's Birthday... she turns the big 29! The next weekend is her Sparks group's sleepover, then the following weekend Ali, Anisha and I fly to Calgary for a week.

6. So, for the February week off, Ali, Anisha and I are flying to Calgary for a week visit. We will be staying with Ashley and Lynn and catching up with some of our old friends, especially those in the Pre-post-natal baby group who haven't seen Anisha since September 2007 . The shocking thing about booking the whole trip is that if we rented a car from the airport, there are almost $80-100 extra in fees. Therefore we are going to rent a car from downtown Calgary. Much cheaper.

7. Ali and I have also started house hunting. We have met with our real estate agent, gone over the paperwork, and are now seeing houses with him in the evenings and weekends. We hope to buy our first house within 3-6 months. With the market a little low and the tough economic times in Saskatchewan (1500 people were laid off work from large mineral companies within the last month), we are seeing a price drop that will work to our favour. We will keep you all informed about our progress.

Thats it for here. Have a great week all!
