My birthday was yesterday and I turned 36. It struck me that I am that much closer to 40 than I realized. Not that I am scared of turning 40, but it now seems more "real" if you catch my drift. The girls each gave me a movie: Man of Steel and the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz & The World's End). Ali gave me a Windows Surface tablet that can convert to a laptop by connecting a small keyboard attachment.

It is a pretty sweet device. I have upgraded everything to Windows 8.1 RT which is the best at what it can be right now. My only concern is the fact that the keyboard it so thin it might aggravate my carpal tunnel syndrome. However, it is such a minimal syndrome in my case, I'm not too worried right now.
Today we went and saw Carlton High School's pantomime production of Jungle Book. The set was very nice, the make up amazing, and the kids had a lot of fun. At one moment, the monkeys wanted to make Mowgali the Monkey King, but they came on stage with an empty throne. They then searched the audience and took Anisha on stage to be the Monkey King with a banana rimmed crown and bowed to her. Here are some pics:
This Friday will be Broadway North's Beauty and the Beast Jr. We thoroughly enjoyed The Little Mermaid last year, so we are hoping for the same theatrical enjoyment as well.
I begin rehearsals this week for my March show I'm directing: 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress by Alan Ball (True Blood, American Beauty). I have an awesome cast, and an awesome costume designer, so it should be a lot of fun.
Book sales for Galactic Odyssey books 1 and 2 are fine. I'm doing one more local craft fair on Dec 7 and then the official book reading and signing on Jan 22, Then hopefully some Fan Expos in 2014.
Have a great week all. I leave you with a cute Samantha:
